152 TikTok Statistics for 2026
TikTok has not published a worldwide user count since 2021. Its advertising tools reached 2.33 billion users outside China in October 2026, on Kepios's count, and it had 189 million average monthly active recipients in the EU in the first half of 2026. In January 2026 a new US joint venture took over TikTok's US business, with ByteDance keeping 19.9%.
This page gathers the latest TikTok figures in one place: users worldwide and by country, who uses it in the US, teenagers, news, time spent, TikTok Shop and economic studies, the US ownership change, government device bans, and how much content and how many accounts TikTok removes. Every number links to the company, court, government or research body that published it, with the date.
TikTok numbers are easy to mix up. Ad reach counts accounts that advertisers can target, not unique people. TikTok's own user counts are company claims, each with its own scope and date. Pew and other surveys report the share of people who say they use it. From the second quarter of 2026, TikTok's global enforcement data excludes the US, which the joint venture reports separately. Each figure here says what it measures, and figures on different bases are not compared.

How many people use TikTok worldwide?
TikTok has not given a worldwide user count since September 2021. The newest global measure is the reach of its advertising tools, which Kepios compiles each month: it counts accounts advertisers can reach, not unique people, and it is still growing fast outside China.
- TikTok's last worldwide figure, from 27 September 2021, reads: "More than 1 billion people around the world now come to TikTok every month". It has not published a newer global count. (TikTok (1 billion post), Sep 2021)
- The number of users advertisers could reach with TikTok ads worldwide rose by 346 million (+17.4%) between October 2025 and October 2026, on figures from TikTok's own ad tools. (Kepios (TikTok stats page), Nov 2026)
- TikTok's ad reach equalled 39.5% of all adults aged 18 and over worldwide in October 2026, and 49.1% of adults outside China, where ByteDance runs Douyin. (Kepios (TikTok stats page), Nov 2026)
- People aged 25-34 made up the largest part of TikTok's global ad audience in October 2026: women of that age were 20.8% and men 21.9%. Women aged 18-24 were 11.1% and men aged 18-24 10.9%. (Kepios (TikTok stats page), Nov 2026)
- 50.4% of TikTok's global ad audience was female and 49.6% male in October 2026. (Kepios (TikTok stats page), Nov 2026)
- TikTok was the favourite social platform of 10.0% of internet users aged 16 and over worldwide in GWI's survey, fifth behind Instagram (17.8%), WhatsApp (17.1%), Facebook (13.3%) and WeChat (11.2%). (Kepios (Digital 2027), Oct 2026)
- In the five years since the pandemic, the share of Reuters Institute survey respondents across all markets who use TikTok for any purpose grew from 15% to 37%. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
- 53% of 18-24-year-olds across the Reuters Institute's markets use TikTok for any purpose, against 23% of people over 55. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
Ad reach comes from TikTok's self-service advertising tools as compiled by Kepios. It can include duplicate and fake accounts, mostly covers people aged 18 and over and leaves out China, and Kepios warns it is not a direct proxy for a platform's user base. The GWI favourite-platform share and the Reuters Institute use shares are survey results and are not compared with ad reach.
How many Americans use TikTok?
TikTok's own count of US users has gone up in each statement it has made since 2023, and the joint venture that took over in January 2026 gives the highest figure yet. These are company claims with no published method. Pew's survey of US adults and Kepios's US ad reach measure different things and appear in their own sections.
- On 21 March 2023 TikTok said it brings joy "across the United States for more than 150 million people." (TikTok (150 million US users post), Mar 2023)
- TikTok's chief executive Shou Chew told the US Senate Judiciary Committee on 31 January 2024 that TikTok had "well over 170 million Americans" on the app and that "the average US user is over 30". (TikTok (Senate testimony, Jan 2024), Jan 2024)
- TikTok said on 24 April 2024 that the US divest-or-ban law "would devastate seven million businesses". (TikTok (statement on the law, Apr 2024), Apr 2024)
- In 2023, US TikTok users uploaded more than 5.5 billion videos, which were viewed more than 13 trillion times around the world, according to the Supreme Court's opinion describing the case record. (Supreme Court of the United States (TikTok v. Garland), Jan 2025)
- The joint venture's US reports page, live in November 2026, says TikTok is "enabling" 8.5 million US businesses. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (US reports), 2026)
TikTok's and the joint venture's US user numbers are company claims; none gives a method. Kepios's US ad reach (in the worldwide chart) counts accounts advertisers can reach, and Pew's share of US adults (next section) is a survey result. The three measure different things and are not compared or combined.
Who uses TikTok in the US?
In the US, TikTok is used most by young adults, women, Hispanic and Black adults, and people in lower-income households, on Pew's surveys. Use among adults has risen since 2021 but did not change between 2025 and 2026.
- TikTok use among US adults rose from 21% in 2021 to 33% in 2023 and 2024, on Pew's trend. (Pew Research Center (social media fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 43% of US women use TikTok, against 31% of men. (Pew Research Center (social media fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 53% of Hispanic and 51% of Black US adults use TikTok, against 30% of White adults. (Pew Research Center (social media fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 44% of US adults in households earning under $30,000 a year use TikTok, against 29% in households earning $100,000 or more. (Pew Research Center (social media fact sheet), Oct 2026)

- 42% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning US adults use TikTok, against 33% of Republicans and Republican leaners. (Pew Research Center (social media fact sheet), Oct 2026)
Pew figures are shares of US adults aged 18 and over who say they ever use TikTok. Pew changed its survey mode in 2023 and 2024 and advises care when comparing with earlier years. These are survey shares and are not compared with TikTok's own user counts or with ad reach.
How many US teens use TikTok?
About two in three US teenagers use TikTok, more than use Instagram or Snapchat. TikTok also has the largest share of teens who say they use it almost constantly, and that share has grown since 2022.
- TikTok use among US teens aged 13-17 was 67% in 2022 and 63% in both 2023 and 2024. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
- 21% of all US teens say they are on TikTok almost constantly, up from 16% in 2022; 17% say so of YouTube and 12% each of Instagram and Snapchat. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
- 61% of US teens use TikTok every day, against 76% for YouTube, 55% for Instagram, 46% for Snapchat and 20% for Facebook. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
- Among US teens who use TikTok, 31% say they use it almost constantly, up from 25% in 2024. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
- 36% of US teens use at least one of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat or Facebook almost constantly, and 40% say they are online almost constantly. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
- 75% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning US teens use TikTok, against 60% of Republican and Republican-leaning teens. (Pew Research Center (teens 2025), Dec 2025)
Pew surveyed 1,458 US teens aged 13-17 living with a parent. Shares of all teens and shares of teens who use TikTok have different bases and are not compared.
How many people use TikTok in the EU and Europe?
TikTok's audience in the largest EU countries has grown in every report it has filed under the Digital Services Act. France, Germany, Italy and Spain have the most users, and TikTok also gives a wider European figure that includes the UK.
- TikTok had 178.3 million average monthly active recipients in the EU from July to December 2025. (TikTok (EU DSA report H2 2025), Feb 2026)
- In July to December 2025 France had 29.1 million monthly active recipients, Germany 27.3 million, Italy 25.2 million and Spain 25.0 million. (TikTok (EU DSA report H2 2025), Feb 2026)
- For the period TikTok labels February to August 2024, France had 24.7 million, Germany 22.8 million, Italy 21.6 million and Spain 20.3 million. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2024), 2024)
- In TikTok's first DSA transparency report, covering April to September 2023, France had 21.4 million, Germany 20.9 million, Italy 19.7 million and Spain 18.3 million. (TikTok (EU DSA report Sep 2023), 2023)
- Among smaller EU countries, Sweden had 3.8 million monthly active recipients from January to June 2026, Hungary 3.7 million, Bulgaria 2.9 million, Austria 2.8 million and Czechia and Ireland 2.5 million each. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- Finland had 2.0 million, Denmark 1.6 million, Croatia 1.3 million, Slovakia 1.2 million, Lithuania 1.1 million and Latvia 1.0 million in the first half of 2026; Malta, the smallest, had 0.2 million. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- TikTok said on 17 February 2023 that "over 150million people across Europe" came to its platform every month, across 32 countries including the UK, Switzerland and Norway. (TikTok (Europe 150m post), Feb 2023)
- On 26 November 2024 TikTok said "over 175m people across Europe now come to TikTok every month". (TikTok (Europe 175m post), Nov 2024)
- On 5 September 2025 TikTok said "more than 200 million people across Europe now come to TikTok every month", using the same method as its DSA figures. (TikTok (Europe 200m post), Sep 2025)
DSA figures are TikTok's own average monthly active recipients in the EU-27, rounded to the nearest hundred thousand; they are not unique people. TikTok warns that people who use the app from more than one member state can be counted in each, so country figures can add up to more than the EU total. Each report averages over its own window. TikTok's Europe figures cover 32 countries, including the UK, and are not compared with the EU-only figures.
How many people use TikTok in the UK, Canada, Australia and Sweden?
TikTok says tens of millions of people use it each month in the UK and Canada. National surveys in Australia and Sweden find it well behind Facebook, YouTube and Instagram among adults, but far more popular with young people.
- TikTok said on 9 June 2025 that "More than 30 million people across the UK now use TikTok each month", counting monthly active recipients in January to March 2025. (TikTok (UK 30 million post), Jun 2025)
- TikTok said on 10 March 2026 that "more than 16 million Canadians come to TikTok every month", when TikTok Canada reached an agreement with the Government of Canada to keep its Canadian operations. (TikTok (Canada agreement post), Mar 2026)

- In Sweden, 22% of internet users aged 8 and over used TikTok in the past 12 months and 15% used it daily in 2026, against 46% daily for Instagram and 45% for Facebook. (Internetstiftelsen (Svenskarna och internet 2026), Sep 2026)
- 69% of Swedes born in the 2000s used TikTok in the past year and 52% used it daily, against 7% and 4% of those born in the 1960s. (Internetstiftelsen (Svenskarna och internet 2026), Sep 2026)
- 42% of Swedish children and young people aged 8-19 use TikTok daily, against 9% of adults aged 20 and over. (Internetstiftelsen (Svenskarna och internet 2026), Sep 2026)
TikTok's UK, Canada and Australia numbers are company claims. ACMA surveys Australian adults and Internetstiftelsen Swedish internet users aged 8 and over; the eSafety figure comes from a survey of 898 parents and carers. Company claims and survey shares are not compared.
How many people get news from TikTok?
TikTok is the fastest-growing platform for news, and in parts of Africa and South-East Asia around half of people online use it for news each week. In Europe, Japan and the US it plays a smaller role. Pew and the Reuters Institute ask different questions, so their US figures are not compared.
- Across all Reuters Institute markets, 13% used TikTok for news in 2024, and 23% of 18-24s. (Reuters Institute (DNR 2024 summary), Jun 2024)
- TikTok is used for news each week by 24% of online adults in Greece, 21% in Brazil, 19% in Poland and Australia, 17% in France and Turkey, and 16% in Spain. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
- Weekly TikTok news use is 12% in Sweden, 7% in Germany and Japan, and 6% in Denmark. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
- In the US, 10% of online adults used TikTok for news in the past week in 2026, down 2 points, and 25% used it for any purpose. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
- In the UK, 7% of online adults used TikTok for news in the past week and 21% for any purpose. (Reuters Institute (Digital News Report 2026), Jun 2026)
- In Pew's survey, 20% of US adults regularly got news on TikTok in 2026, the same as in 2025 and up from 3% in 2020. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 53% of US TikTok users regularly get news there, up from 22% in 2020. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 25% of US adults aged 30-49 regularly get news on TikTok, against 11% of those aged 50-64 and 4% of those 65 and over. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 24% of US women regularly get news on TikTok, against 15% of men. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 35% of Hispanic and 32% of Black US adults regularly get news on TikTok, against 14% of White adults. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
- 25% of US adults with a high school education or less regularly get news on TikTok, against 13% of college graduates; 22% of Democrats and Democratic leaners do, against 15% of Republicans and Republican leaners. (Pew Research Center (news fact sheet), Oct 2026)
The Reuters Institute asks online adults whether they used a platform for news in the past week; Pew asks US adults whether they regularly get news there. The two are different measures and are not compared. Reuters repolled its platform questions in March 2026 and advises caution with year-on-year changes. Reuters averages are across all markets surveyed, not the world population.
How much time do people spend on TikTok?
On measured app data, TikTok users spend more time in the app each day than users of any other big social app. In surveys, about a quarter of US adults say they use it every day, and young adults are far more likely to.
- Worldwide, Instagram users averaged 1 hour 40 minutes a day in August 2026, YouTube users 1 hour 28 minutes, WhatsApp users just over an hour and Facebook users 59 minutes, on Similarweb app data reported by Kepios. (Kepios (Digital 2027), Oct 2026)
- Internet users aged 16 and over worldwide spend 19 hours 18 minutes a week on social media and video platforms such as YouTube and TikTok, 42 minutes more than a year earlier, on GWI survey data. (Kepios (Digital 2027), Oct 2026)
- 24% of US adults said in early 2025 that they use TikTok daily, including 19% who use it several times a day. (Pew Research Center (social media use 2025), Nov 2025)
- 47% of US adults aged 18-29 use TikTok daily, against 28% of those aged 30-49, 17% of 50-64s and 5% of those 65 and over. (Pew Research Center (social media use 2025), Nov 2025)
Daily minutes are Similarweb measurements of native mobile app use, per active user of each app, worldwide; the previous year used a different method, so no trend is given. Weekly hours come from a GWI survey of internet users, and daily-use shares from a Pew survey of US adults. The three are not compared.
How big are TikTok Shop and TikTok's economic impact?
TikTok publishes growth rates for its shop but few sales totals, and its economic impact figures come from studies it released. None are official statistics, and the studies use different methods and years, so their totals are not added up or compared.
- TikTok Shop said the four-day Black Friday to Cyber Monday period in 2025 drew "nearly 50% more shoppers" in the US than in 2024. (TikTok Shop (BFCM 2025 post), Dec 2025)
- US sellers hosting livestreams saw 84% sales growth over the campaign, across more than 760,000 livestream sessions with over 1.6 billion views, TikTok Shop said. (TikTok Shop (BFCM 2025 post), Dec 2025)
- TikTok Shop said in June 2025 that its US sales had risen 120% on the same period a year earlier, and that over 171,000 local and small businesses sell on it. (TikTok Shop (discovery post, Jun 2025), Jun 2025)
- Small US businesses made over a third of all TikTok Shop US purchases each month in 2024, and brands and creators hosted over 8 million hours of LIVE shopping in the US, TikTok said. (TikTok Shop (discovery post, Jun 2025), Jun 2025)
- TikTok Shop UK said Black Friday 2025 sales were up 45% year on year, and the number of sellers making sales over Black Friday rose 85%. (TikTok Shop UK (Black Friday 2025 post), Dec 2025)

- An Oxford Economics study released by TikTok in March 2024 estimated that small and midsized businesses' use of TikTok supported $24.2 billion of US GDP and 224,000 jobs in 2023, and $5.3 billion in taxes. (Oxford Economics (TikTok US study 2024), Mar 2024)
- TikTok said its own US operations supported a further $8.5 billion of GDP and 59,000 jobs in 2023. (TikTok (economic impact release, Mar 2024), Mar 2024)
- An Oxford Economics study released by TikTok in March 2025 estimated that US businesses on TikTok employ more than 28 million workers and that 4.7 million US jobs benefit from using TikTok, more than 3.1 million of them directly. (TikTok (Oxford Economics jobs study 2025), Mar 2025)
- A PF Global report released by the TikTok US joint venture in October 2026 estimated that TikTok supported $81 billion of US GDP and 410,000 American jobs in 2025. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (economic impact report 2026), Oct 2026)

- An Oxford Economics study released by TikTok found UK small and medium-sized businesses on TikTok contributed an additional £1.6 billion to the UK economy and supported 32,000 jobs; TikTok said more than 1.5 million UK businesses are on TikTok. (TikTok (UK 30 million post), Jun 2025)
- An Oxford Economics study released by TikTok in April 2024 estimated that TikTok contributed A$1.1 billion to Australia's GDP and supported nearly 13,000 jobs in 2023. (TikTok (Australia Oxford Economics post), Apr 2024)
- The White House said on 25 September 2025 that preserving TikTok's business "will generate $178 billion in economic activity in the U.S. over the next four years"; it did not publish a method. (The White House (TikTok fact sheet, Sep 2025), Sep 2025)
TikTok Shop figures are company claims and are not audited; "sales" is not defined and is not compared with retailers' revenue. The Oxford Economics and PF Global studies were released by TikTok and use TikTok's own data; the pages do not say who paid for them. Each covers a different country, year and method, so their results are not added up or compared. The White House figure has no published method.
What happened to TikTok's US ownership?
A US law, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, set prohibitions on TikTok in the US that would apply unless it underwent a "qualified divestiture". The Supreme Court upheld the law in January 2025, enforcement was delayed by executive orders through 2025, and a US joint venture took over TikTok's US business in January 2026.
- The US Supreme Court upheld the Act in TikTok Inc. v. Garland on 17 January 2025, a week after hearing argument on 10 January. (Supreme Court of the United States (TikTok v. Garland), Jan 2025)
- The Act's prohibitions on TikTok took effect on 19 January 2025, 270 days after enactment. (Supreme Court of the United States (TikTok v. Garland), Jan 2025)
- On 20 January 2025 the President instructed the Attorney General not to enforce the Act for 75 days. (The White House (TikTok order, Jan 2025), Jan 2025)
- Executive orders signed on 4 April, 19 June and 16 September 2025 delayed enforcement further, to 19 June, 17 September and 16 December 2025. (The White House (TikTok order, Sep 2025), Sep 2025)
- An order signed on 25 September 2025 approved the framework as a "qualified divestiture" and paused enforcement for a further 120 days. (The White House (TikTok order, Sep 2025), Sep 2025)
- Under the approved framework, ByteDance and its affiliates would own less than 20% of the new US entity and choose one director of its seven-seat board, the White House said. (The White House (TikTok fact sheet, Sep 2025), Sep 2025)
- TikTok USDS Joint Venture was established on 22 January 2026; its US enforcement reports for 2026 cover activity from that date. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (US reports), 2026)
- Silver Lake, Oracle and MGX are the joint venture's three managing investors, and it has a seven-member, majority-American board. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (announcement), Jan 2026)
Figures come from the Supreme Court's opinion, White House orders and its fact sheet, and the joint venture's own announcement and reports page. Ownership shares are as the joint venture states them.
Which governments have banned TikTok on official devices?
The European Commission, the US, Canada and the UK all banned TikTok on government devices within a few weeks of each other in early 2023. Each ban covers official devices only, not the public.
- The European Commission suspended TikTok on its corporate devices, and on personal devices enrolled in its mobile device service, on 23 February 2023. (European Commission (press release IP/23/1161), Feb 2023)
- The US Office of Management and Budget told federal agencies on 27 February 2023 to remove TikTok from IT they own or operate within 30 days, under the No TikTok on Government Devices Act. (US Office of Management and Budget (M-23-13), Feb 2023)
- US federal agencies also had 90 days to make sure new contracts did not require the use of TikTok. (US Office of Management and Budget (M-23-13), Feb 2023)
- Canada removed TikTok from government-issued mobile devices from 28 February 2023 and blocked users of those devices from downloading it. (Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, Feb 2023)
- The UK banned TikTok on government corporate devices in all departments on 16 March 2023, as a precaution; the ban does not cover personal devices of staff, ministers or the public. (UK Cabinet Office (GOV.UK), Mar 2023)
Each ban is taken from the government's own announcement and dated. Bans by other governments are not listed because they could not be confirmed on an official page.
How much content does TikTok remove?
TikTok removes well over 100 million videos a quarter for breaking its rules, a small fraction of uploads, and almost all before anyone reports them. Its global figures for the second quarter of 2026 leave out the US, which the joint venture now reports separately.

- About 0.5% of all videos uploaded were removed in each quarter from the fourth quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2026 (the last excluding the US), down from about 1.0% in the second quarter of 2024. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- 99.5% of removed videos were taken down before anyone reported them in the second quarter of 2026, worldwide excluding the US, up from 93.4% in the third quarter of 2020; 92.7% were removed within 24 hours. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)

(TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- Pakistan had the most video removals in the second quarter of 2026 (global data excluding the US), 23.2 million, followed by Bangladesh (14.8 million), Indonesia (12.2 million) and Vietnam (7.5 million); the UK had 3.4 million, Germany 2.6 million and France 1.7 million. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- TikTok removed 3.85 million videos under its misinformation policy in the second quarter of 2026, worldwide excluding the US, 89.5% of them before any views. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- TikTok removed 278.4 million comments in the second quarter of 2026, worldwide excluding the US, against 1.33 billion in the second quarter of 2025; its data file does not explain the fall. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- TikTok suspended 47.2 million LIVE sessions in the second quarter of 2026, worldwide excluding the US, about 2.4% of all LIVE sessions, against 8.1 million in the second quarter of 2023. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- TikTok removed 25.9 million individual ads in the second quarter of 2026, worldwide excluding the US, against 1.9 million in the third quarter of 2025; the data file does not explain the jump. (TikTok (Community Guidelines Enforcement Report), Oct 2026)
- 96.7% of TikTok's removals worldwide in the first quarter of 2026 were made by automated technologies, after what TikTok called "record levels" of enforcement in 2025. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026, additional documentation), Aug 2026)
- In the US, TikTok USDS Joint Venture removed 12.2 million videos in the second quarter of 2026, 11.0 million of them by automated systems, after 8.4 million from 22 January to 31 March; it also removed 19.7 million comments in the second quarter. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (US reports), 2026)
- The joint venture removed 99.2% of violating US videos before they were reported in the second quarter of 2026 (98.8% in the first) and 89.4% within 24 hours. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (US reports), 2026)
- 82.2% of videos the joint venture removed in the US in the second quarter of 2026 had no views (91.0% in the first quarter), and 97.7% of content reported by US users was actioned in less than 2 hours. (TikTok USDS Joint Venture (US reports), 2026)
All figures are TikTok's or the joint venture's own counts under their own rules, and rising counts can reflect changes in detection and enforcement as well as in volume. TikTok's global figures for the second quarter of 2026 exclude the US. The joint venture reports the US separately from 22 January 2026 with its own method, so its figures are not added to the global ones, and 2026 is not compared with earlier quarters.
How many fake and under-13 accounts does TikTok remove?
TikTok removes tens of millions of fake accounts and accounts it suspects belong to children under 13 every quarter, and blocks far more fake accounts before they are created. Removals of suspected under-13 accounts have grown many times over since 2020.

How does TikTok moderate content in the EU?
In the EU, most of TikTok's moderation happens on its own initiative and by automated systems. Users and authorities send far fewer notices and orders, but EU users appealed millions of TikTok's decisions in the first half of 2026.
- 205.2 million of TikTok's own-initiative measures in the EU from January to June 2026 followed detection by solely automated means. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- EU users sent TikTok 1,081,646 notices of allegedly illegal content in the first half of 2026, 471 of them from trusted flaggers, covering 349,915 distinct items. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- After those notices TikTok acted on 59,375 items under local law and 32,881 under its own rules. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- EU member state authorities sent TikTok 1,070 orders to act against illegal content, covering 5,033 items, and 13,066 orders to provide information in the first half of 2026. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- Germany sent 6,205 of the information orders and France 2,934; France sent the most orders to act (389), then Germany (200). (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- EU users filed 14.59 million complaints against TikTok's moderation decisions in the first half of 2026, including 11.73 million against content removal or restriction and 810,860 against account bans. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- 6,886 EU disputes went to out-of-court settlement bodies, and TikTok suspended 137,538 accounts for providing manifestly illegal content. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- TikTok rates its automated moderation in the EU at 97% precision, 94% recall and 92% accuracy; it defines precision as the share of automated actions not successfully appealed. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- TikTok had 3,738 content moderators with EU-language expertise in the first half of 2026: 62 employees and 3,676 external contractors. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- 1,730 of those moderators worked in English, 339 in German, 337 in French, 281 in Spanish and 241 in Italian; none covered Irish or Maltese. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2026), Aug 2026)
- From January to June 2025 TikTok removed around 27.8 million pieces of content that broke its Community Guidelines in the EU, and put its moderation accuracy at 99.2%. (TikTok (EU DSA report H1 2025), 2025)
- In July to December 2024 TikTok proactively removed approximately 18 million pieces of content in the EU and received around 231,000 illegal content reports covering about 123,000 unique items. (TikTok (EU DSA report H2 2024), Mar 2025)
All figures are TikTok's own reports to the EU under the Digital Services Act and cover the EU only. Reports before 2026 used different templates and wording, so earlier figures are not compared with 2026 ones. TikTok's precision, recall and accuracy figures are self-assessed, not an independent audit.

Methodology and sources
Figures come from TikTok's own transparency reports, EU DSA reports and newsroom posts, the TikTok US joint venture, the US Supreme Court, the White House and other governments, survey researchers (Pew Research Center, the Reuters Institute, ACMA, the Swedish Internet Foundation and Australia's eSafety Commissioner) and Kepios. Each figure links to the body that published it, with the date. Company claims are dated and quoted in TikTok's own words, and third-party user estimates are not used. Ad reach, TikTok's own user counts, EU monthly active recipients and survey shares are kept apart and never added together or compared. TikTok's global enforcement figures for the second quarter of 2026 exclude the US, and every such figure says so. Economic impact studies are labelled as released by TikTok and are not official statistics. The page is reviewed monthly and the date is shown at the top.
